  • Installing packages and managing services
  • Install Nginx and serve a simple site

Week 3

Messaging Basics

  • Understanding asynchronous systems
  • SNS vs SQS concepts and real use-cases
  • Mini demo: publish message to SNS
  • Consume message using SQS
Week 4

Serverless Introduction

  • AWS Lambda basics
  • Function handlers and triggers
  • Using Lambda with events
  • CloudWatch logs and monitoring basics
Week 5

IoT Messaging Concepts + Mini Project

  • MQTT fundamentals
  • Optional introduction to AWS IoT Core
  • Mini project combining EC2, Messaging (SNS/SQS), Lambda or MQTT flow

Practical Environment

Participants will work directly with AWS accounts. The program demonstrates how engineers interact with cloud infrastructure using:

Linux terminal
SSH access to cloud servers
AWS Management Console
Basic command-line workflows

Participants are encouraged to use their personal systems for all exercises.

Practical Outcome

Launch and configure cloud servers using EC2
Secure access using SSH and security groups
Deploy a simple service using Nginx on Linux
